First Day of School
Q1) Does my child need to bring any textbooks on the first day of school?
The students do not need to bring any books on the first day of school. A schedule will be provided on the first day of school to share on the books to bring over the whole week. This is so that the students’ school bag will not be too heavy for them to manage. Please refer to the checklist for the things to bring on the first day of school.
Q2) Are parents allowed to enter the school on the first day of school?
Yes, only one parent is allowed to accompany your child on the first day of school. More information can be found in the P1 Orientation Briefing slides found here (PDF file password protected :/ ).
Q3) I did not receive the name card (lanyard) for my child? What should I do?
The name card (lanyard) has been mailed out already. If you do not receive it by December 2021, please contact the school office.
Communication
Q1) What are the communication channels with the school?
The main communication channel will be Parents Gateway. The school bulletin and all other school letters will be sent through Parents Gateway. Do ensure that you update the Parents Gateway app periodically.
Q2) How do I communicate with the teachers?
The Student Handbook is also a communication book. You can write a note in the Handbook, send an email to the teachers, or call the General Office to leave a note for the teacher to return your call. There will also be a Parent-Child-Teacher conference conducted each year. The modes and format will be subjected to the national posture in view of the Covid-19 situation.
Daily Concerns: Recess, Timetable, Attire
Q1) When will I receive my child’s timetable?
The timetable will be given to your child by the first week of school. Please refer to the checklist for the things to bring on the first day of school.
Q2) What is the colour of school shoes and socks?
All students are required to wear black shoes and white socks.
Q3) Does my child need to bring a thermometer to school?
All Primary 1 students will be provided with a new thermometer. It will be given to them on the first day of school.
Q4) What time is recess?
On a normal school day, Primary 1 recess is from 9.45 a.m. to 10.15 a.m. in the canteen. The students will have another snack break at around 11.45 a.m. in the classroom. The snack break is about 15 minutes. Parents/guardians should pack light and healthy snacks that the students can manage easily in the classroom. Kindly note that only water is allowed in the classroom.
Q5) How much is the food from the canteen?
Most meals cost $1.50 for the regular portion. More information on the canteen stalls can be found here.
Arrival and Dismissal
Q1) Are there any pictures of the dismissal points?

Q2) Are we able to change the mode of dismissal?
Yes, you can update your child’s form teacher if there are any changes to the mode of dismissal.
Support and Transition to Primary School
Q1) How can I learn the school song with my child?
The school song has been uploaded to the school website. You can access the information here.
Q2) Are students expected to carry a heavy bag to school daily?
School bags must be manageable as students might have to move between different classrooms for various lessons. To manage the load, some books are kept in the school by teachers. Students are advised to pack their books and learning materials according to the timetable and avoid adding unnecessary weight to their bags.
Q3) I did not receive the booklist. Where can I get the information?
A copy of the booklist has been uploaded to the school website. You can purchase books online. You can access the information here.
