Education and Career Guidance
The Education and Career Guidance (ECG) framework empowers students to explore opportunities, discover their purpose and stay relevant in a rapidly changing world. Guided by the school’s values and 21st Century Competencies (21CC), and anchored in a holistic “Head, Heart and Hand” approach, the framework nurtures confident, adaptable and purpose-driven individuals. This approach is integrated throughout our ECG experiences to support students’ academic, personal and professional growth. Through structured learning and authentic experiences, students explore diverse pathways, develop self-awareness and build practical skills—preparing them for future success.
Lower Primary (P1–P3) introduces foundational elements through the Head and Heart approaches. The Head component exposes students to diverse career possibilities, helping them identify interests and strengths while developing critical thinking. The Heart component focuses on self-awareness and social development, guiding students to recognise their strengths, values and goals, while fostering empathy and reflection.
Upper Primary (P4–P6) focuses on the Hand approach, where students engage in experiential learning. Through project-based tasks, collaboration and hands-on experiences, they develop practical skills such as communication, teamwork and problem-solving. Students apply their learning to real-world contexts, strengthening their readiness for future pathways and the world of work.

Be Yourself Day
In conjunction with A.G. STARS, our Primary 1 and 2 students celebrate Be Yourself Day by expressing their dreams through career-themed outfits that reflect their aspirations.
Students design their costumes using recycled or reusable materials, making the celebration both meaningful and eco-friendly. It is a joyful showcase of imagination and ambition, as our Anchorlites proudly share their dreams, celebrate their individuality and embrace their limitless potential.
P3–P4
Heart-to-Heart: Inspiring Young Aspirations
This session bridges learning between the classroom and the professional world by allowing students to hear firsthand career journeys from our parent volunteers. During our career exploration day, parents visit Primary 3 classrooms to share their work experiences and inspire young minds. Students then take their curiosity home by interviewing their own parents about their careers and discovering the stories behind different professions. This meaningful exchange broadens students’ understanding of career possibilities while strengthening family bonds and developing important communication skills. Through these conversations, students learn valuable lessons about hard work, perseverance and the importance of education in achieving their dreams.
P4 Discover Your Sparkle & ECG on the MOVE
Every child has unique talents waiting to shine, and our Discover Your Sparkle programme helps Primary 4 students uncover their strengths and interests. Through hobby exploration, inspiring teacher stories, thoughtful class discussions and visits from guest speakers, students embark on a journey of self-discovery. They learn to appreciate what makes them unique while considering how their passions may connect to future possibilities, building confidence and a love of lifelong learning.
ECG On the Move
An interactive travelling exhibit is brought in to increase students’ awareness of their interests and sense of purpose, and to strengthen their hope and motivation to pursue their aspirations. Through thoughtfully designed activities, students learn more about their skills and strengths, and are guided to make connections between their strengths and a wider range of career interests.
P5–P6
Discovering My Purpose and Exploring Opportunities
Students learn about different career pathways and education options through the SkillsFuture Portal. They also explore secondary school options and learn how to make informed choices about their future. Along the way, they build confidence in decision-making and develop resilience when faced with challenges. Students practise these skills through guided conversations with parents and ECG coaches, and use tools such as the MOE SchoolFinder to research and plan their educational pathways.
A.G. STARS: Discovering My Purpose, Exploring Opportunities, Staying Relevant
Our signature A.G. STARS programme bridges learning between the classroom and the real world. Our Primary 6 students embark on a comprehensive three-stage journey of self-discovery and professional exploration.
Stage 1: Inspiring Voices (Career Conversations)
The journey begins with authentic dialogue. We invite a diverse range of professionals—including journalists, legal experts and police officers—to share their career stories. We also take great pride in welcoming back our alumni, who provide relatable insights into life after primary school. These sessions help students visualise the various educational pathways and opportunities that await them beyond Anchor Green.
Stage 2: Industry Immersion (Learning Journeys)
Moving from conversation to observation, students embark on a one-day industry learning journey. By visiting workplaces, students gain firsthand exposure to specific sectors, discover how modern industries operate and learn about the different roles within them.
Stage 3: The Learning Festival (Student-Led Teaching)
The programme culminates in our vibrant two-day Learning Festival, where students become the experts. Building on their research and industry insights, our P6 stars take on the role of teachers. Through creative poster displays and engaging presentations, they share their learning with the school community.
